A close call

Enda Kenny joined us for a walkabout on Saturday through the village. There were lots of FG supporters out for it and it went well. Very interesting to see him work. He talks to everyone, and has something to say to everyone. We talked to some of the local business owners, as well as patrons of the Ranelagh Arts Festival, and it wasn’t so much yes or no to Lisbon, but ‘get in there and make a change’. He must get it a lot, given the position he is in.

Enda left us to continue his hectic schedule around the city and I joined Lucinda for a canvass in the City Centre, just off Kevin Street. It was quite warm and going up and down the stairs of the different buildings was tough going. But I was with some really nice people and the response we were getting was, for the most part, quite positive.

I think we’re there, though it will be close. Now it’s just a question of holding our own.
