The Refurbishment of Kevin St. Library

Dublin City Public Libraries have announced the commencement of works to refurbish Kevin St. Library.

Library services have seen enormous change over the years. Kevin St. Library is in need of these works to accommodate the requirements of a public library beyond those envisaged when the building first opened in 1904. Works will include:

– Specialist repairs to the roof and structure

– Conservation of original architectural features

– Restoration of original wooden shelving and flooring

– Increased public space for study, exhibitions, community groups & children’s library

– Universal accessibility to all areas

– Public restrooms

Dublin City Public Libraries continue to explore alternative locations in the area for a temporary library service. In the meantime, Kevin St. Library users are welcome to use other locations close to the city centre:
