DublinCars takes another step forward

Posted August 28th, 2013

Today the Government announced a partnership between Iarnród Eireann and GoCar that will see GoCars available at 14 different stations across the Iarnród Eireann network (13 in Dublin and one at Kent Station, Cork) from 2nd September.

GoCar is a car sharing service that allows members to rent cars by the hour from convenient locations across the city. This partnership will allow those travelling by train to continue on to their preferred destination using a GoCar located at the train station. 19 vehicles will be available for use and there is scope to have this number increased if the initial partnership is successful. For more information on GoCar see here

Dublin City Council recently announced that it had awarded GoCar the first licence to operate on-street car clubs in the city under the Council’s new bye-laws. Car sharing will operate in a manner similar to DublinBikes and you can read more about the initiative here.
