Sports Capital Grants

Last week, €37 million in funding was announced for sports clubs around the country under the 2019 round of the Sports Capital Programme. This is the primary means of providing Government funding for capital projects to sport and community organisations at local, regional and national level.

I was delighted to see the local clubs below receiving a grant to improve their offerings.

Brookfield Lawn Tennis Club – Pavilion Redevelopment – Tennis – €116,445

DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL – Herbert Park, Bowling Green – Multi-sport – €27,785

Lansdowne Lawn Tennis Club – Resurfacing 6 courts &  fencing – Tennis – €114,849

Leinster Cricket Club – Resurface courts, artificial wicket drainage – Cricket – €66,652

Mount Pleasant Tennis Club – Improve disabled access & new gym – Tennis – €82,947

Old Belvedere RFC – Install All-weather Rugby Pitch – Rugby – €92,518

Railway Union – Indoor cricket training facilities and mower – Multi-sport – €103,375
