Northbrook Avenue receives regular patrols and has been the focus of several operations targeting burglaries and other crimes. Operation Acer, which is ongoing in the Dublin area, is an intelligence led operation in burglaries which to date has seen a number of detections of this sort of crime. Operation Acer is part of a national initiative encompassed in Operation Fiacla to combat property crime. These operations are subject to close monitoring and review by Garda management.

Sandymount wins Tidy Towns Award
Posted September 11th, 2012I was fortunate to sit on that committee alongside Cllr Maria Parodi when I was on the Council (it was also a great personal interest of mine because I grew up on the Green).
In publishing this document the committee suggested a number of spin off projects from the work that already had been done – one was the Tidy Towns initiative that began earlier this year (and had local pols doing their bit clearing cable ties from lampposts!).
The group have been meeting regularly every Saturday morning to take care of our village and yesterday their hard work was officially recognised by the Irish Planning Institute.
It really is a great achievement and a fantastic demonstration of what a community can do when they come together and dedicate themselves to their local area.

New Developments in Ranelagh
Posted August 30th, 2012My understanding is that Jason’s Pool Hall site (including my old office, the old post office and newsagents) will become a new Lidl supermarket, though this has not been confirmed. The above image is what the new development should look like, with supermarket at ground level and offices above. Serendipity, Paddy Power and Cupcakes are not part of the redevelopment and will remain open for business as usual.
My office in Leinster House continues to function as normal. If you need to talk to me at any time please do get in touch. You can contact me in any number of ways:
You can call me on (01) 618 3324, email me on eoghan.murphy@oir.ie, social media me through Facebook, Twitter (MurphyEoghan) and LinkedIn, or write to me at Leinster House, Kildare St, Dublin 2.
I look forward to hearing from you.
All the best,
Eoghan

Have your say on the new Arts and Culture Plan for the City
Posted August 23rd, 2012As part of Dublin City Council’s development of a new Arts and Culture Plan for the City, Green Hat has been engaged to find out what is important to those who live and work in or visit Dublin. Focusing on two areas of the City – the North West and the South East, this consultation will ask what is important in arts and culture, what is missing and what are the key priorities.
We would like to arrange conversational workshops in order to seek out views and ideas and are looking for host organisations willing to gather together small groups of people who would like to take part. Groups of 6 – 12 would be ideal for no more than 1 hour, perhaps tying in with scheduled group activities already taking place. The workshops will be very informal and a contribution can be made towards room hire and refreshments if required.
The Green Hat team would like to schedule workshops on 22nd – 23rd August, 12th – 13th September and 19th – 20th September 2012.
A short survey also available to complete online and should take no longer than 10 minutes. You can also download a printable version as well.
